How Sublimation Mug Printing Works

Sublimation printing is the technology behind virtually all high-quality mug printing, and understanding how it works explains why the results look as good as they do ”” and why certain mug types and colours cannot be used with this process.

Sublimation uses a two-stage process. A design that wraps fully around the mug can be visually impactful when the mug is rotated, but it also means that part of the design will always be facing away from the viewer.
